She was built by Elisha Brown in 1854 at Owls Head, ME at a cost of $20,000.00. Plying the New York-Mediterranean-West Indies “Triangular Trade” route, she carried New England manufactured goods to the Mediterranean, where she picked up wine, oils and fruits bound for the West Indies.
