You’ve planned your wedding for 2009 and you’re ready to start hashing out the details. 2009 is a great year to get married, with lots of new, hot trends and fashion ideas that will make your wedding one of the most unique and one of a kind this coming year! Metallics Metallics are coming back into style this year, but in a much more subtle way. Don’t dress your bridesmaids in monochromatic, blazingly metallic dresses but do add splashes of cool silver or warm, rich gold here and there. Other metallics that are coming into style in 2009 are rosy and copper tones, especially when mixed with bold, bright colors in the same color family. Great places to add a metallic touch are reception tables, wedding favors and bouquets. Full Color Schemes Gone are the days of planning just one or two wedding colors. Other great themes include travel themes, such as a romantic trip to Paris or Italy. To keep your wedding theme current though, make sure your theme isn’t too “cutesy” - holiday themes are out - and that everything doesn’t match. Having a successful theme wedding doesn’t mean that the heart logo on the napkins is found everywhere, including your cake and your cake serving set and your wedding 28 | SOUTHERN MARYLAND WEDDINGS WINTER / SPRING 2009
