Stain Additives UV Boost Stain Additive Carpenter Bee Insecticide BEE Gone Insecticide UV Boost is a concentrated water-based liquid stain additive that contains a new ultraviolet light inhibitor that minimizes the darkening of wood. When used inside it will help prevent the “picture frame” effect. Some areas of your wall covered by pictures will remain light, but the rest will darken over time because the ultraviolet light in sunlight will darken the lignin component of wood. When added to the first coat of semitransparent water-based stains such as Lifeline Interior or WOODguard ITF, UV Boost combines with the lignin in the wood to delay the wood beneath the stain from graying. UV Boost is designed for use in water-based interior stains in areas of the country subject to high intensity sunlight. These areas include the southeast, southwest and high altitude areas. Here’s how to use UV Boost: Shake container and add entire contents to the appropriately sized full container of stain. Shake or stir the container of stain/finish to thoroughly mix. Apply stain/finish according to the labeled directions. UV Boost is only effective when used in the first coat of stain/finish applied to bare wood. UV Boost must be in direct contact with the wood for it to work. Since the concentration of the active components differ, be sure to use the appropriate size for the amount of stain/finish you are using. UV Boost is not effective when added to topcoats or stains applied over an existing finish. UV Boost should be stored at moderate temperatures. Do not allow to freeze! BEE Gone is an EPA registered insecticide which is applied to wooden structural surfaces on the exterior of the home. The active ingredient in BEE Gone is Permethrin. It controls a wide range of insects, including beetles, spiders and carpenter bees. This product is not designed for preventative use and should only be applied when pests appear. BEE Gone mixes only with water and is specifically packaged for residential use as a diluted spray. BEE Gone is easy-to-use, has no harsh odors and is registered for in and around exterior home use. It cleans easily with water and has no harsh solvents. BEE Gone may also be used to control homeinvading insects as a residual spray on outside surfaces such as walks, garbage areas, window frames, doorways, porches, and patios. Use a clean sprayer, such as a tank type or hose-end sprayer to mix and apply the proper amount of concentrate with the desired volume of water to your wood surface. Repeat treatment as necessary, but not more frequently than once a month. BEE Gone is not registered to be used with any paint or stain. It should only be applied with water. 120 ml - $ 7.25 (for use with 1 gallon) 240 ml - $17.95 (for use with 5 gallons) 8 Ounce Bottle - $37.75 |
