Sealants Check Mate 2 Check Sealer The new Check Mate 2 is a weatherproof sealant designed to stop or prevent water infiltration through pronounced cracks (called Checks) in logs, timber and wood siding. If you have a check kit on hand you can easily seal checks and prevent the possibility of annoying and damaging water leaks. These colors are available: Yellow Brown, Dark Brown, Medium Brown, Light Brown, Red Brown, Gray & Clear For most applications a Check Kit is the most convenient packaging. Each Check Kit contains 2-11oz usable Check Mate 2 tubes, applicator nozzle, 50 linear feet of 3/8” backer rod and instruction sheet. Coverage is 16’ to 100’ per kit depending on width of gap. The new Check Mate 2 is stainable and dries and cures much more rapidly that the previous formulation. Once cured, it will not turn white or gel soft when exposed to water. The color is apparent right out of the tube, except for the Clear which comes out white, but clears within a couple of days. Check Mate 2 is not shiny and will better blend in with the surrounding wood. Apply when sealant and surface temperatures are between 40F and 120F. DO NOT apply in direct sunlight and DO NOT apply if rain is expected within 12 hours. Clean up and Storage: Warm soap and water is sufficient for proper clean up. Store Check Mate 2 in a clean, dry area out of direct sunlight and away from children. Keep from freezing. Shelf life is 1 year under these conditions.
