The center is a full service camp and conference facility with day and overnight lodges. The lodges can accommodate over 200 people overnight and 500 for day use. The Nature Center is also a wildlife rehabilitation clinic that is dedicated to the care and release of injured and orphaned wild animals. Visit the scenic “Wild Wonders Wildlife Park,” where over 20 species of wild animals call this incredible habitat facility home. Groups will want to ask about the Nature Center’s outdoor education and weekend retreat programs. They also have adventure programs that include high ropes courses, climbing walls and a zip line. Hours vary, so please call in advance. Group tours available by reservation. 5 KENSINGTON METROPARK I 2240 W. Throughout the year, Kensington has interpretive programs and unique facilities with a multi-generational appeal. This 4,481-acre park has picnic areas, beaches, waterslides and squirt zone, boat rental and launches, an 18-hole golf course, plus a 24-basket Disc Golf Course. The Farm Center and Nature Center have self-guided trails in addition to display areas that house farm and outdoor life exhibits. The 81⁄2 mile paved bike-hike trail that surrounds 1,200-acre Kent Lake provides cyclists and walkers with a challenging trek and beautiful panoramic views of the area. The fall brings a spectacular array of colors that are best viewed during a relaxing cruise aboard the Island Queen II, a 37-passenger excursion boat. In the winter months sledding, tobogganing, crosscountry skiing, ice fishing, skating and wildlife viewing complete the wide array of fun activities that make Kensington Metropark a destination for year-round enjoyment. The park is open every day of the year from6 am-10 pm and all the facilities are accessible. 11 IMAGINATION STATION G At the Mill Pond, Downtown Brighton 810.227.5086 Located in the heart of Brighton’s vibrant downtown, the Imagination Station is a 10,000 square-foot playground. A series of wooden play structures create a fantasy child-size play area for children of all ages. While children explore the Imagination Station, adults can enjoy a stroll along the tranquil Mill Pond or tread across the Tridge, a three spiked bridge and a half mile nature walkway with an adjacent gazebo.
