And the Poker Run winners are (from left): Randy Nissen (1st place), Dawn Siemering (2nd place), Terry Pump (3rd place) and Dave Gage (4th place). ® J&P Cycles® is proud to announce that their 2008 fund-raising campaign for Camp Courageous of Iowa has raised a record-breaking amount of $11,152. Located a mere 10 miles from J&P Cycles®, Camp Courageous is a year-round recreational facility for handicapped and special needs children and adults ranging in age from one to 105, located outside Monticello. Money for the fund-raisers was raised through their Annual Poker Run and Motorcycle Industry Golf Outing, both held in June. This year’s amount brings the total donation raised over the past nine years to over $54,500! J&P Cycles® President and Vice President John and Jill Parham presented this year’s check to Camp Courageous of Iowa Executive Director Charlie Becker. “We are so grateful to our wonderful customers, suppliers and employees for their participation in each year’s Camp Courageous fundraisers,” said John. “It is so exciting for this year’s donation to surpass last year’s. We couldn’t have done this J&P Cycles® President and Vice President John without everyone’s support,” he and Jill Parham present Camp Courageous of Iowa Executive Director Charlie Becker with the added. check. th ® The 11 Annual J&P Cycles Poker Run was held on June 7 with over 300 participants taking part in the 115 mile ride across scenic Eastern Iowa. The first stop was at Camp Courageous, where riders were able to mingle with some of the kids the Poker Run would benefit. At the end of the day, a record $2,787 was raised. Then, on June 27, J&P® held its 7th Annual Golf Outing at Fawn Creek Country Club in Anamosa. The golf tournament began in 2002 as a fun event for the many manufacturers and vendors who make the trek to Eastern Iowa for J&P Cycles® Annual Open House. This event gives J&P® the opportunity to play host to a relaxing afternoon of friendship and fun, all while raising money for a worthy cause. Distributors from around the country attend the event and contribute by sponsoring holes and awards in addition to making cash donations. When the numbers were tallied, sponsors and golfers raised $8,365! “We can’t say thank you enough to J&P Cycles® for their nine years of generous support,” John and Jill Parham pose said Becker. “Year-after-year, J&P®, their wonderful with three of the campers employees and other business associates, amaze us at Camp Courageous. with their generosity,” he added. “Camp Courageous is run entirely on donations and the yearly donation by J&P Cycles® helps so many campers.
