Starters are cleaned and lubed, and the starter drive, brushes, and all shims and bushings are replaced. The armature is turned and field coils are inspected. Remanufactured starters are sold on an exchange basis and a core deposit will be charged at the time of sale. To receive a deposit refund your old starter must be complete and assembled. Refunds are based on the condition of your old starter. We accept only original starters with correct manufacturers numbers. To avoid the core deposit send us your original starter at the time of your order. Remanufactured starters are warranted for 185 days FROM THE DATE OF YOUR INVOICE. Disassembling or overheating the starter will void the warranty. Installation labor is not warranted. Return core within 60 days. The leading cause of starter failure is a poorly tuned engine. Bosch specifies not to run the starter more than 30 seconds without letting it cool down. You can save yourself some expensive pieces by not grinding the starter to death trying to start a poorly tuned engine. Also, replacing it as soon as possible once you’re sure it’s failing will save wear and heat damage on all the internal parts, ensuring that your core will be good.
