Our original equipment synchronizer rings and sleeves are suitable for all Alfas built from 1968-94, except for the 164. The 101 and early 105 transmissions, from 1959 through mid 1967, use a different synchronizer material and lubricant. Early synchros have a grooved, or stepped, outer surface. Late synchronizers have a rough finish without any grooves or steps. Early gearboxes can be converted to late synchronizers if you replace all the rings, sleeves, and interior gear quadrants and straps. The bearings and bushings do not fit Alfetta or V/6 models.
